Success Secret #28

It seems as though everyone is looking for the next big thing.  They want to find the industry, product or service that will make them a millionaire.  After all, who doesn’t want a few extra comas in their bank account?

I meet with clients on a regular basis that want to start a business.  I know the ones that have a good chance of becoming successful because they come in fired up about their vision.  They can see exactly what their business will look like from the color of the paint on the walls to the exceptional service they will offer their clients.  This is excellent!  Sometimes I have to polish up that vision to make it more realistic but I love the fact that they know what they want.  They don’t always know what it is going to take to reach their goal but they are committed to working hard and doing what it takes to make it happen.

The businesses that I know will not be successful… when someone comes in and asks me what type of business they should open.  I can’t sell someone on a business idea that they are not passionate about.  Being an entrepreneur or achieving any goal takes passion because you may not immediately see the financial reward for your hard work.  You have to be driven toward a personal satisfaction.

Success secret #28… follow your passion not the money.  I am a firm believer that if you do the work, the rewards will come.  The race is not always won by the swift but by those who stay the course.  If you want to achieve any goal in life, don’t seek the easiest path but put in the work and enjoy the journey.  Often times the road to success is much more fulfilling than the arrival at the destination.

  1. You were right on Lakesha! I was just reading somewhere that although the happiest people get paid for doing what they love, we should do what we love before then. We can’t wait to get paid. We should just do the things we love because they give us energy and perhaps enough energy to carry on in the jobs that 50%+ of Americans hate going to each day.

Do what you love. Even if money doesn’t immediately follow, the joy alone will keep you going each day!

  2. Love this! As you probably know, I’m a firm believer in following your passion instead of money. And you’re right, it might not come immediately, but the rewards will definitely come.

  3. Very good points in this post, Lakesha. You can’t expect someone else to tell you what your dream should be and choose what it is that you should be successful at. As you stated, if it’s not something that you are passionate about you will not follow through with ensuring manifestation. Everyone has their time for success if they have made the choice to be successful. I told my self years ago, and continue to tell myself, as you stated, that the race isn’t given to the swift but to the one who endures.
