It’s all about… Alecia

Alecia Glaize, Executive Director, Escambia County Habitat for Humanity

Running a non-profit is not an easy task, however Alecia makes it look effortless.  She is committed to the Escambia County Habitat for Humanity and works diligently to ensure the organization remains focused on its mission to “Help Build It”.

One of the biggest challenges in running a non-profit is having to juggle so many responsibilities.  Not only do you have to focus on the mission of the organization but you also have to raise funds to keep the organization viable which means seeking donations, grants and volunteers on a continuous basis as well as being accountable to your Board of Directors, and in Habitat’s case the national organization, for staying on target with your  projects.  Alecia has the additional responsibility of selecting people in her area to be placed in homes.  I can not imagine seeing so many worthy applicants and having to choose whose life you will forever alter.

While working with Alecia on various projects, I have seen her committment to the organization, to her family and most of all to her faith.  She is one of those women that would fall in the Super Woman category because she does it all and you never hear her complain.

Today is all about Alecia Curtis Glaize, Executive Director of the Escambia County Habitat for Humanity.  Please visit the Habitat website and join their Facebook fan page (you will also get to see some great pictures from her recent trip to Costa Rica).  I would also like to encourage you to support the Habitat for Humanity program in your area by making a donation, participating in one of their fundraisers or volunteering to participate in an upcoming build.  You would be surprised at what a difference a small contribution of your time, talents and/or resources could make in the life of someone else.

Today is all about Alecia Curtis Glaize, a truly extraordinary woman!

Check back next week, it could be all about YOU!
